Adventure into the Forbidden Woods! Dance and Drama Camp: Leina and the Lord of the Toadstools Join us for an exciting two-day camp in the beautiful grounds of the Sheffield Botanical Gardens! Children aged 6–12 are invited to step into the world of Myriam Dahman and Nicolas Digard’s magical story, Leina and the Lord of the Toadstools. Sign up for both days and get hands-on experience in all aspects of theatre creation: - Acting: Take on roles like the brave and curious Leina, her friend Oren and the concerned towns-people, or the mysterious and angry toad Mr. Spadefoot, Lord of the Toadstools. Use your voice and body to explore there curious characters and develop your stage presence and confidence. - Dance & Movement: Bring the forest to life as dancers embodying the river, trees, bugs, and butterflies. - Production & Design: Get creative by helping to design the set, including the woodland palace and turbulent river. Learn directing skills and support back-stage! The two-day camp culminates in a short, fun performance on the second day, for parents and the group only. There is no pressure to perform but we will support everyone to participate and enjoy the process of making a play.

Camp notes

We will be based at the Dorothy Fox Centre in the Sheffield Botanical Gardens. We will explore the botanical gardens, using different spaces as settings for our performance.

Please send children with:

- snacks (no nuts please)
- packed lunch
- water bottle
- clothes for being outdoors in the weather inc. sun hats or waterproofs
- sun cream if hot
- comfy, sturdy footwear

There will be a short performance of the play on the Wednesday afternoon, and for this we ask parents to arrive at 4.00pm at the Dorothy Fox Centre for this. The performance should be finished by 4.45pm, when children can go home with their adults.
